Trinity County Firefighters Complete Emergency Medical Responder Training

Twenty Volunteer Firefighters from Weaverville, Douglas City, Hayfork and Post Mountain recently completed a 48 hour Emergency Medical Responder Course.  The course consisted of 20 hours of lecture and 28 hours of hands-on training over a 4 week period.  Serena Brown EMT-P volunteered her time to teach this course at the Weaverville Fire Station.  Her expertise and knowledge made the class an excellent learning session.

The funding for this course was provided by a donation from Weaverville Hot Rodders.  This donation paid for the books and other course materials and the NorCal certifications for all students.

“The donation of funds by the Weaverville Hot Rodders group is another example of the community support the volunteer firefighters receive.  Without this support we would not have been able to provide this training”, according to Scott Alvord, Fire Chief for the Weaverville Fire Department.
